Institution Building Support Scheme-II (IBSS-II): 2009 – 10

Interm Report :

The Institution Building & Support Scheme (IBSS) project of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, supported entirely by India Development Relief Fund (IDRF) and Seva International; was initiated in the year 2007-08. The main objective of IBSS is to assist Voluntary Organizations (VO’s) by making them more professional and effective in their functioning through training of their volunteers & staff, imparting better administrative skills and effective use of contemporary publicity media. In the first cycle of this project five Voluntary Organizations (VO’s) were included. Considering the success of the first phase and to meet the increased expectations, it was decided to select ten VOs for the second cycle.

An appeal, to participate in this scheme, was published in some prominent newspapers in Maharashtra. Besides this, several functionaries of RSS Seva Vibhag were communicated personally to broaden the reach. As a response to these efforts, forty eight VOs across the state of Maharashtra, expressed their interest to participate in this scheme. On the parameters of felt need for such kind of training, area and nature of the activity and actual working the track record of, twenty one VOs screened for the final presentation. Sixteen VOs actually turned up for presentations as a part of the first selection round at Prabodhini’s Knowledge Excellence Centre in Bhayander, which were held on June 12, and 13, 2009.
